Growing Tips
- Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight. A south or west-facing window is ideal, but avoid direct harsh sunlight which can scorch the plant.
- Soil: Use a well-draining cactus mix or create your own by combining potting soil with sand and perlite in equal parts.
- Watering: Water sparingly during the growing season (spring and summer). Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once a month or less.
- Temperature: Ariocarpus retusus prefers warm temperatures, ideally between 20°C to 30°C during the day. Protect it from frost and cold drafts.
- Fertilization: Feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer during the growing season, approximately once a month.
- Repotting: Repot every 2 to 3 years or when the plant outgrows its container, preferably in spring.
